Empowering people to make money smart, life smart financial decisions today, not “some day”. It is that simple.
Teens and college-students tell me they do not know where to begin or what questions to ask. They desperately want to understand money management, particularly how to successfully navigate through the mine fields such as how to not get in credit card trouble as they embark into managing their own finances for the first time. They are being slammed for their mistakes, sometimes paying the price of a few bad decisions for years. And, in some cases they are watching their parents suffer financially and feel helpless. They realize that being able to manage their personal finances well will give them access to employment opportunities, a college education, avoid bankruptcy and become successful, independent adults.
I am passionate about educating and empowering people so that they live a great life starting today. My goal is to create a foundation that is steeped in knowledge and creates balance in life coupled with "life smart" steps. It is about finding the courage to take actions today towards a healthy financial life and developing the expertise in understanding good versus poor financial choices. We inspire confidence to recognize and challenge those fighting to get your dollars.
The world of personal finance and money management has changed dramatically in the past decades. ”Basic banking” is no longer basic. Decades ago, one’s money management consisted of a straightforward savings account, checking account, having cash for their daily purchases and perhaps a mortgage. Have times changed! Credit cards, debit cards and gift cards are well on the way to replacing cash entirely. And each comes with its own set of rules and the likelihood that you will be hurt for a misstep. And these missteps have the potential to negatively impact our credit score, ability to get a loan for a car, home or college education and their long-term financial health and wealth.
